I strive to match what we do in therapy with what will help you in the most effective way. The treatment emphasis depends on the nature of your problems, your personality style, and your comfort and preferences. I use clinical hypnosis (deeply focused attention) as well as cognitive-behavioral (emphasis on how you think and act), and psychodynamic (emphasis on more unconscious motivations and patterns) approaches. With couples I work on changing dysfunctional communication styles and enhancing and restoring respect and trust in the relationship.
